The CHORD project holds a press conference within the framework of the International Exhibition on Cultural Heritage

The CHORD project was presented on the occasion of the celebration of the celebration of the International Exhibition on Cultural Heritage, at the 'Carrousel du Louvre' in Paris.

 Under the title ‘The CHORD project, taking advantage of Mediterranean cultural heritage’, the  conference, jointly organised by the Cultural Heritage and Industries Cluster, the Municipality of Ceutí and ENA Chios S.A. with the support of the Fundación Comunidad Valenciana – Región Europea, was focused on explaining the aims and objectives of the CHORD project, as well as informing about the main activities developed by the three project partners represented.

In this regard, the president of the Cultural Heritage and Industries Cluster, Mr Gilles Martinet, presented their expetience in cooperation and in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA), one of the most advanced regions in the management and valorisation

Concerning the Municipality of Ceutí, its Mayor Mr José Manuel González, explained that Ceutí is carrying out one of the first stages of the project, aimed at improving local resources with a socio-cultural offer comprising museums, leisure and art. Besides, they are developing a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threatens) on their cultural offer, as well as implementing pilot inititatives based on innovative services.

Finally, ENA Chios, S.A., the development society of Chios island, informed about its best practices in the promotion of the island. It also gave an exemple of the transformation of mastic resin in the Greek island, already used as chewing gum or as ingredient in the traditional medicine, and which is being currently developed by the craftmen of Chios as sweet delicatessen labelled as Protected designation of Origin by the EU.

Supporting the cultural heritage sector

From November 4th to 7th Paris is hosting the International Exhibition on Cultural Heritage, a three-day event which gathers professionals from all sectors involved in cultural heritage. With more than 250 exhibitors and 20.000 visitors, this event aims to strengthen the development strategy for the restoration and heritage value sectors in France.
