San Severino Lucano presented the project CHORD to local stakeholders
On 13th February San Severino Lucano organized the presentation of the main aims and methodology of the project CHORD to foster rural and cultural development in the Mediterranean area to the local stakeholders.
During the event, Mr Saverio De Stefano, mayor of San Severino Lucano remarked that “Our aim, as well as the project aim, is to take advantage of the cultural promotion of our resources, as well as to enhance the rural areas with a remarkable historic and cultural heritage, the local products and the landscape resources and to promote the creative/cultural enterprises and the leisure activity services”.
Angela Zifarone, project manager and the vice president of the Pollino National Park, Franco Fiore explained to the participants the application of the Project CHORD within the policies of the Pollino National Park in order to enhance rural, economic and cultural valorization in the area.
Domenico Cerbino, president of the Pollino Agricultural and Innovation Agency of the Basilicata Region (ALSIA) underlined the importance of linking the production of quality agro-food products and the development of the territory.
At the end of the session, Luigi Viola, committee chairman for the province of Potenza, explained the province and the territory development policies.
During the presentation a group of tour operators, cultural, food and agricultural enterprises as well as representatives of the local government of the four valleys of the Pollino area, Frido, Sarmento, Mercure and Sinni -involved in the project-, were informed of the project objectives and the modalities of their achievement: the innovative and creative cultural promotion of enterprise hubs based on the local cultural heritage and the landscape resources.
